About the Bell Inn

Owners Glen and Sally Harms and their dedicated team look forward to welcoming you to the award winning Bell Inn to sample your favourite tipple and enjoy their award winning food.

The Bell Inn has recently won Channel 4’s “4 In a Bed” and has been awarded an AA 2 Rosettes for Culinary Excellence and been rated as an AA 4 Star Inn.

The Bell Inn sits in the heart of the village of Thorpe-Le-Soken which is set in the picturesque Essex countryside close to the Victorian seaside towns of Clacton-on-Sea, Frinton-on-Sea and Walton-on-the-Naze.

The building has been used as an Inn since the middle of the 16th Century, but originally it was the guildhall of St Michael’s Church.

The Bistro is open for lunches, snacks and evening meals every day and sample menus can be found here.

Join us on the picturesque terrace overlooking St Michael’s Church or warm yourself by the fire in our lounge bar.

We regularly host evenings of entertainment with musicians, singers and entertainers for our diners to enjoy.

We offer a private dining facility in the Monet Room and can host functions including special occasions and intimate gatherings.

The Inn has recently been lovingly renovated throughout and has been awarded an AA 4 Star Inn rating.  The rooms are available for bed and breakfast, offering deluxe double rooms overlooking St Michael’s church.
